Teaching in Slovakia, 2024 (From LinkedIn)

I recently had the privilege of participating in the American School of Law course, taught by the experienced American practitioner Mr. Lawrence J. Praeger. This course provided an invaluable deep dive into the American legal system, and I gained critical insights into the following areas:

The foundational principles of U.S. Constitutional Law such as checks and balances, separation of powers, and due process.

The Bill of Rights and how it protects individual freedoms.

The unique relationship between federal and state courts, including doctrines like pre-emption and how certain rights under the Fourteenth Amendment apply to the states.

A comprehensive understanding of both criminal and civil trial structures, the role of the judge, jury, attorneys, and the intricacies of juvenile delinquency proceedings.

Real-world examples of trial preparation in cases like Driving While Intoxicated and Divorce with Children.

This course not only enhanced my knowledge of American law but also solidified my goal of pursuing further legal education in the U.S. I’m excited to use these insights as I move forward with my legal career!

Thank you, Mr. Praeger, Matej Bel university and everyone involved in this enriching experience!
